Drawing inspiration from his pioneering journey in fashion design, the show is a series of striking 36×48 inch acrylic paintings, each depicting a single nail color bottle adorned with vibrant lacquer finish hues to bold textured applications. Reflecting on his innovative exploration of nail polish product design from his namesake fashion label, Cheston’s creations offer a captivating mix of artistry and craftsmanship.

In addition to the acrylic paintings, the exhibition features custom works on paper, including distinctive prints of the nail polish bottles meticulously rendered on canvas and coated with transparent high gloss. With over 50 minimalist paintings scheduled to be displayed, viewers are invited to explore an array of color stories and high-fashion color palettes, each exuding its own allure and sophistication.

About Dexter Cheston: A native of Trenton, New Jersey, Dexter Cheston is a multifaceted artist and entrepreneur with a passion for pushing the boundaries of creativity. Cheston studied Business and Marketing plus Art History at Clark Atlanta University, in Atlanta, Georgia as well as Organization and Technical Design at New York Institute of Technology in Manhattan, New York. 

In 2015, Cheston launched the fashion house DEXTERDEXTERDEXTER in New York City, where he debuted multiple runway collections during NYFW and served as creative director for nine years.

In 2023, Cheston founded the Dexter Cheston Gallery, an artist-run institution dedicated to shaping the conversation around contemporary fashion-art on a national and international level. More than just an art gallery, the Dexter Cheston Gallery serves as a vibrant hub for creativity, innovation, and cultural exchange, enriching the lives of all who encounter it.
